PIT BULL DRAGS OWNER AWAY FROM ONCOMING FREIGHT TRAIN - “Despite her wounds a blood-soaked Lilly continued to stand guard…until paramedics arrived.”

A woman passed out as she was crossing train tracks with Lilly, her 8-year-old Pit Bull, in the Boston area. A train was quickly approaching so Lilly grabbed her unconscious owner and pulled her to safety just in time. However, Lilly was badly injured and will most likely lose one of her legs. A heroic pit bull was hit by a train after putting herself in its path to save her unconscious owner.

Christine Spain was walking home from a friend’s house with her 8-year-old mutt Lilly when she collapsed on some train tracks in Shirley, Boston.

The quick-thinking pooch grabbed the woman and began dragging her toward safer ground, out of the path of an oncoming freight train…She was rushed to an emergency animal hospital in Acton, then taken by Spain’s police officer son, David Lanteigne, to Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston where she is undergoing extensive treatment.

In addition to injuries to her right front leg, Lilly suffered pelvic and internal injuries. Hopefully, Lilly will recover fully and resume life at home with her owner. Lilly deserves all the treats. Click here for the full story.
